Will Congress pass Obamacare by the end of the year?

"ABC" stands for All Barack's Children. On Sept. 8, young students across the country will be watching television. Yes, they'll be parked in front of boob tubes and computer screens watching President Obama's address on education.

Instead of practicing cursive, reviewing multiplication tables, diagramming sentences or learning something concrete, America's kids will be lectured about the importance of learning. And then the schoolchildren, from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, will be exhorted to Do Something -- other than sit in their seats and receive academic instruction, that is.

Education Secretary Arne Duncan dispatched letters to principals nationwide, boasting, "This is the first time an American president has spoken directly to the nation's schoolchildren about persisting and succeeding in school." But the goal is not merely morale boosting. According to White House event-related guides developed by the U.S. Department of Education's Teaching Fellows, grade-school students will be told to "listen to the speech" and "think about the following":

-- What is the president trying to tell me?

-- What is the president asking me to do?

-- What new ideas and actions is the president challenging me to think about?

Students can record important parts of the speech where the president is asking them to do something. Students might think about: What specific job is he asking me to do? Is he asking anything of anyone else? Teachers? Principals? Parents? The American people?

After the speech, teachers will ask students:

-- What do you think the president wants us to do?

-- Does the speech make you want to do anything?

-- Are we able to do what President Obama is asking of us? Continued...

Re: your first point about American educ
As the current education flow seems to be taking us {I was a high school teacher for 30 years and each year we had a new gimmick given by the so-called experts...among us teachers we often laughed; perhaps they are not laughing as much any more...scary...huh?} away from true learning and towards the "touchy feeling" part of learning, the rest of the world is passing us by, by learning math, literature, writing, economics and history. However, inspite of all that, there are still enough students who ignore that "touchy feeling" in public schools, or go to private schools, { the left and President Obama must not allow too many private-voucher schools...really!} so that America continues it edge on other countries. The question remains: for how long does the edge remain sharp enough? It all depends on the private schools and parents in the public school. Actually, President Obama's campaign to indoctrinate kids {think big government control of minds...sound familiar?} could be turned around with parental guidance discussing with their kids the idea of doing for themselves and without government assistance or instructions. The essay could be about self-responsibility, self-awarenss, self-control, free enterprise...freedom of choice...the ideas of yesteryear!! It wouldn't be what he wanted, but who cares? Talk to grandma and grandpa and get their input for these essays. Let everyone play a role and see what happens...see who wins their minds!

The Warmup Has Begun
Yesterday, a group of Hollywood actors- ones picked to appeal to young audiences- appeared in a TV ad called "Pledge". It was blatant propaganda designed to vanguard the Obama speech. Among them was 15 year old Dakota Fanning, her career recently revived by her vampire character in the "Twilight" sequels... and still notorious for her epic work of child porn when still 12. Another was Robin Wright; the woman who recruited Dakota into that pornographic film ("Hounddog") in the first place. To me, speaks volumes on the attitude that the Obamanists hold in regard to children. That of occasionally useful tools. What's now the standard attitude in Hollywood is to be extended to every child in the country.
