Poll
Will Congress pass Obamacare by the end of the year?

The convention floor was abuzz all yesterday with the news of the CBS poll showing a dead tie (42-42) in the presidential race. And the poll, conducted through Wednesday, couldn't reflect the impact of John McCain's speech, or the full impact of Sarah Palin's late Wednesday night. It reflected opinions only after the Democrats' convention, Barack Obama's incredible speech, the Palin selection and the early, Gustav-depressed GOP gathering.

That augers ill for the Democrats. Tonight's polling could bring evidence that the Obama candidacy is in big trouble.

First, the GOP convention managed to disprove the central premise of the Democratic assault on McCain: that he is a clone of President Bush. The Republicans wisely marginalized Bush to a non-prime-time videotaped speech, and sprinkled disappearing dust on Dick Cheney.

The speeches, and the very fact of the Palin designation, repudiated Washington and focused on how McCain is an agent of change - this ticket is populist, reformist, anti-establishment, grass-roots and anti-corruption.

And McCain last night made the point plain: "Let me offer an advance warning to the old, big-spending, do-nothing, me-first-country-second Washington crowd: Change is coming."

If Bush were the nominee, this campaign wouldn't suffice to push voters away from Obama. But now that McCain has moved decisively away from the administration, Obama's lost much (at least) of his advantage on the issue of reform. Now other doubts about Obama could elect McCain.

The turning point was the designation of Palin and the personal attacks on her. By stirring up a storm, Democrats assured that Palin would speak to 37 million Americans - just a million fewer than watched Obama's acceptance speech.

Anecdotal evidence already suggests that women may have a gut reaction to the establishment's sexist assault on a woman candidate - and flock to McCain. They've seen him stake everything on this one big move of turning toward a woman - in direct contrast to Obama's deliberate decision not to name a woman.

They've seen the media and Democrats gang up on her and do their worst. And they've seen Palin stand up and stuff the challenge right back down the establishment's throat. All this may have created an entirely new dynamic in the race.

Now the Republicans must battle to underscore the threats this country faces, economically and internationally, and that we can't let an ingenue take over. They must capitalize on McCain's aggressive determination to bring reform to Washington and to emphasize Obama's inexperience and failure to grasp how to change Washington.

But it was McCain's gutsy selection of Palin that opened the door to victory.

Presidential Choice
McCain is a HERO against a ZERObama. STRAIGHT TALK over JIVE TALK. Obama is the PIED PIPER of liberalism, preaching class warfare-rob the rich to give to every dependent with their hand out. The Bolsheviks did this to the Czar of Russia when communists grabbed power in Russia in 1919, constantly demonizing the wealthy while preaching revolution to the workers. Obama will give us higher taxes, bigger govt., uncontrolled spending, weaken our defense against U.S. enemies by sacrificing security to be a "citizen of the world" and sit down with radical leaders for diplomacy. He is supported by radicals such as Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Kim Jong Il of N. Korea, Ahmed Yousef-HAMAS terrorist leader, Black Muslim leader Louis Farrakhan, former Weatherman terrorist Bill Ayers and Hungarian billionaire George Soros who will spend billions to buy the White House for Obama. McCain/Palin for America!

Sarah Palin Is What Is Happening
September 9,2008
When Larry Holmes gave his post fight interview after he, as a current and young heavyweight, anniliated the older and failing Muhammed Ali many years ago he said to Howard the following:
Ali was the greatest but he has had his day. I thought of that prophetic remark as I listened to what Gloria Steinem and NOW described in such undermining terms John McCain' choice of Sarah Palin as Vice Presidential hopeful and someday a good chance of being the first woman to be elected President. I am not going to legitimize the elder statesman who I cannot remember being in the forefront for many years past, knocking a strong woman candidate for higher office like Sarah Palin juggling a family and a high level position. Although I always thought that in the old days these femminists advocated the posibility of eventualy breaking the glass ceiling. They may be making a sneaky attempt at posturing for Obama while knocking Sarah Palin.Modern women, of course will go with someone who is young and vital and ensconsed on all media formats which so far has continued since she was introduced to all of America at the RNC Convention. As the obsolete crowd of the prior woman's rights movement, they can certainly consider themselves a phenomenal success by creating a scenario in this country where Sarah Palin will smash the glass ceiling. In 2008, I am afraid to say it is a new world, woman wear artistically gorgeous undergarments and burning them does not occur to them in these informed times where guttersniping men is passe. Most of the women media personalities who bashed Sarah Palin and the feminist organizations and former spokespersons have had their day. There comes a time when you have worked all your life and it is time to take it easy, May I suggest Sante Fe,or a college town in Oregon. The polls today are starting to turn and even Mitzy Gaynor had to defer to a New Face On Broadway.
