Will Sarah Palin make a run at the GOP Nomination in 2012?

A while back, I wrote an article in which I pointed out that for over 20 years Barack Obama has attended Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ, whose minister, as we all know all too well, is a vicious hatemonger, and which recently bestowed its highest honor on none other than the legendary anti-Semite, Louis Farrakhan.

Among the many e-mails I received was one from an black man in New Jersey. He identified himself as a successful entrepreneur in his mid-30s. The tone of his remarks was reasonable and he seemed to be well-educated, but by the time we had had six or eight exchanges, he’d managed to convince me he was an idiot. Let us call him Mr. Christopher.

It was his contention that unless the Democrats made Sen. Obama their presidential nominee, it would destroy the party. I told him that although he was very much mistaken, I, personally, wished he weren’t. The way I see it, the Democrats have been doing their best to destroy America for the past three decades, and it’s high time they got a taste of their own medicine.

Mr. Christopher wrote: “For a party that has over the years been in favor of racial equality and has fought against racial oppression to have its most recent president, Bill Clinton, purposely use race to marginalize and divide in order to win an election is a shocking and possibly fatal blow. It will have undermined everything the party has said they stood for over the decades.”

I replied: “You are merely parroting a lie that has been sold to the people by the Democrats. It was, after all, the Democrats who created the KKK and initiated and enforced Jim Crow laws in the South. It was Earl Warren, a Republican, who was appointed to be chief justice of the Supreme Court by Dwight Eisenhower, another Republican, who ruled that separate but equal was unconstitutional. And although Lyndon Johnson was in the White House in 1964 when he pushed for the passage of the Civil Rights Act, it became the law of the land because of the Republicans. In the House, only 64% of the Democrats, but 80% of the Republicans, voted for it. In the Senate, while only 68% of the Democrats endorsed the bill, 82% of the Republicans voted to enact it.”

Instead of responding to those facts, Mr. Christopher came back with: “If Obama isn’t nominated, it will make millions of Afro Americans switch to the Republican party.”

I asked him why that would be a bad thing. “The GOP,” I went on, “would treat them with respect, as adults, not as a flock of baby birds who can’t fend for themselves.”

He replied: “Now the question is, do the Republicans want the Afro American Vote or will they continue to turn their backs on us?”

“And just exactly how has the GOP done that? From my perspective, I’d say it’s the blacks who have been bought off with so-called entitlements who have swallowed their pride and voted overwhelmingly for cynical Socialists. Why do you refuse to acknowledge that it’s black Americans who have chosen to play the role of victims, and have thus enabled the likes of Ted Kennedy, the Clintons, Reid, Pelosi, Jesse Jackson, Charles Rangel, Maxine Waters and Al Sharpton, to get fat playing the race card? The GOP has far more in common with blacks than the Democrats do when it comes to core beliefs. Republicans, like blacks, tend to be religious; the Democrats just show up at black churches at election time where black ministers, many of whom have been paid off, roll out the red carpet for the obligatory photo ops. The GOP, again like most black Americans, tend to be pro-life and opposed to open borders. The liberals are on the side of illegal aliens because they don’t see them as low wage competitors for jobs, but as millions of potential votes. Yet, 90% of black people can be counted on to vote for any jackass with a (D) after his name.”

“Still,” he wrote back, “you can’t deny that what makes us strong as a nation is that we are very diverse.” Continued...

shells
come on shells,

that is not fair.

i have never accused you of being brainwashed.

just as you are not the normal conservative i am not the normal liberal.

some of us really do try to be objective.

how can you try to predict how i would react to your links?
how do you know what is in my mind and heart?

if you have a source that is opposed to mine, let me see it. i can be as wrong as anyone.

even if i did not agree with your source i would not demean you personally.

it is ok to disagree but still have a spirited debate.

as far as why i support obama, i gave you a credible list.
that list is based on policy issues and my own preferences for a president.
you may not agree on my preferences but to accuse me of basing my decision on a cult of personality isn't warranted.

i don't care if the man is white, black, red, brown, or purple.
race does not enter into it.

here is why.

i was raised in a wonderful loving religious environment.
i was taught from early childhood not only by my parents but by my church to treat people the way you want to be treated.
i was taught race doesn't matter and that is part of the fiber of my very being.

now you don't have to believe it, but i would not invoke my religious beliefs lightly or falsely.

i have consistently said i was liberal because of my religious beliefs.

as i am sure it is for you, my God comes before politics.

my messiah is Jesus Christ not obama.

politics is not that serious that i would sell my soul for any politician.

as a matter of fact,

i loved huckabee, he came closet to my values on a number of issues and would have voted for him over hillary.

i actually posted that a couple times when he was still in the race.

you see i am not like the other liberals you have run across and just as you ask me to recognize your uniqueness as a conservative,

i ask you recognize my uniqueness as a liberal

thanks again for the discussion.

Religiouslib
If you don't trust any liberal or conservative commentator until you have done your own research to prove them wrong...

How then do you prove them wrong if you trust none? Do you think news has more validity if it can be googled? Who is the source? How do you find out if the source is valid? How do you determine the source you are rearching to prove what you heard from somewhere else is viable? Ridiculous.

Perhaps you are more inclined to trust something more if it preaches to your own choir?

I trust no one, Religiouslib, but I trust myself. I trust I can be objective, and as you know, I am unlike most conservatives in my opinions, which you have commented on and you have admired. I can see both sides to any issue, as you know and as you have commented. You never once had trouble believing me or agreeing with me then, until now...

I go to the source, and I seek Obama. I seek his camera appearances, I seek his debates, I seek his speeches, I seek his interviews, and I seek his candid remarks. I seek him. And that is the best source to tell me all I need to know. And I know the guy is the best man made production ever to come across our laps.

Give YOU sources?
Give YOU facts?
Give YOU links?

Why? So you can tell me it's not reliable enough for your liking? So you can counter me with your own link from a source you prefer because it speaks to you as you need it to?

I come to TH to reaffirm or condemn opinions. I enjoy the articles. But I make up my own mind, as you know. It's just that you are sensitive about Obama. It's driven so deep inside you that he MUST be wonderful, and it's so hard for you to condemn him for absolute obvious failures.

If Obama were white and a republican with the same track record, you would be spitting on him. For you to not even have self actualization of this only shows how far your brainwashing has come.
