Early reports of a shooting in McAllen have been dismissed by the McAllen police department. CBS reports that, four suspects have been taken into custody following an attempted robbery at a jewelry store at La Plaza Mall in McAllen Saturday afternoon and the sound of "gunshots" was actually just the sound of shattering glass.
The police department issued a statement via Twitter saying there no injuries.

BREAKING: Active Shooting Underway in Texas Shopping Mall
CBS reports that police are responding to an active shooter at La Plaza Mall in McAllen, Texas.

"Active Shooter at the McAllen Plaza Mall Stay Away from the area! Several law enforcement agencies heading to the scene," Hidalgo County Constable Precinct 4 said on a Facebook post.
Some inside the mall took to Twitter, saying, they were currently in lockdown mode.
