Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and retired Gen. Mark Milley— also a staunch anti-Trumper— did the unbelievable by admitting that the United States will be “OK” under the next Trump Administration.

Milley, who just days ago was highly critical of President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet choices, told the very liberal network MSNBC to “take a deep breath” because “America’s going to be okay” under the 47th president.

“There is a lot of waves out there, but this is a big, strong country. 380 million people. Great institutions, great people, great workforce, and a great younger cohort of people that are gonna protect America,” he said.

Milley’s comments are a stark difference from his previous stance in which he described Trump as being a "fascist" and "the most dangerous person to this country.” Last year, he called Trump a “wannabe dictator.”

“Every single Secretary of Defense has come in with the idea of ‘reforming’ the Pentagon,” he continued, acknowledging that incoming Trump allies have the potential to bring “helpful" reforms to the agency.

Milley, who Trump once called a “f*cking idiot,” has been very critical of policies being put into place by the incoming administration.

In an opposing argument to Trump and his allies, Milley said he supported women in military combat as long as they “meet the standards.”

“Women have been in combat, and it doesn’t matter if that 762 hits you in the chest, no one gives a sh– if it’s a woman or guy who pulled the trigger,” he said earlier this week.

On the contrary, Trump’s pick for Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, argued against women in combat, saying it makes the U.S. military’s readiness more or less weaker.

“I’m straight-up just saying we should not have women in combat roles. It hasn’t made us more effective, hasn’t made us more lethal, has made fighting more complicated,” he said on the Shawn Ryan podcast.

Trump and Hegseth have been critical of the military and what they call “woke generals.”

The pair’s relationship began deteriorating in 2021 after Milley was accused of treason after reassuring China's People's Liberal Army General Li Zuocheng that he would give the communist country a heads-up if Trump launched an attack during the final months of his first term. According to a series of reported phone calls, Milley told Li he would stand between Trump and an attack on Chinese assets. He also demanded that senior officers obey his orders and ignore those given by Trump, despite being the President of the United States.

In response, Trump did as any person should do: cut him and ruin his life.
