Democrat “sanctuary cities” are being overrun by illegal immigrants thanks to their loyalty to President Joe Biden's open-border policies.

Denver, Colorado recently announced that it plans to spend at least $89.9 million on resources and services for the massive influx of illegal immigrants entering the city. To cover these expenses, Democrat city leaders will be forced to pull $45 million from public activities and services.

The budget cuts will impact every single agency in the liberal city. The city’s police department will be hit with an $8.4 million reduction— roughly 1.9 percent of its total operating budget. Fire departments will also see a massive cut this year thanks to Biden’s immigration policies. The department will face a $2.5 million reduction— 0.8 percent of its total operating costs.

9-1-1 operators will also have to be paid differently to save the city money.

The city has already spent more than $42 million on immigrant shelters, including medical services, in 2023. Denver officials say they plan to spend over $100 million on the immigration crisis this year.

Denver sees roughly 5,000 illegal aliens— or “newcomers” according to the Left. Earlier this year, Mayor Mike Johnston asked every city department to find creative ways to reduce costs by 10-15 percent.

In 2023, Denver had more than 40,000 illegal immigrants arrive in the city, spiking the total number of non-citizens to around 710,000.

The $89.9 million Denver plans to spend on illegal immigrants entering the city will go toward:

Program Administration: $3 million

Shelter and Housing: $51.7 million

Supportive Services: $9.7 million (includes case management, workforce training)

Transportation: $6 million

One Time Capital Costs: $9.5 million

Contingency: $10 million

Total: $89.9 million Via Fox31

The city hopes not to use the full $89.9 million in case of a sudden surge in immigrant arrivals.
