After a month of ignoring Reade’s claims against the former vice president, one taxpayer-funded group broke the silence. Planned Parenthood insisted that “believing women” is its standard always, not just when politically expedient, despite the month-long delay to make any comment on Reade’s allegations:
“At Planned Parenthood Action Fund, we believe women...Saying we believe survivors doesn’t mean only when it’s politically convenient. This isn’t a fringe issue, it’s one that affects all of us...Any person seeking elected office — and especially the highest office in the land — needs to address allegations of sexual assault and harassment seriously, both as a systemic problem and with a sense of personal responsibility...Vice President Biden must address this allegation directly."
At @PPact, we believe survivors—and saying we believe survivors doesn't mean only when it's politically convenient. Our country is hungry for leadership on this issue & now is the time to give it to them. @JoeBiden must address this allegation directly. https://t.co/4qj6mzSIUL
