HuffPo: What Would Mary Jo Think?

Ok, so when I woke up this morning, I didn't plan to post negative Kennedy stories all over the blog.  But the Liberals have forced my hand with this one.

The Huffington Post has actually taken it upon themselves to speculate: What would Mary Jo Kepechne have thought about Ted Kennedy's career in the Senate?

"Ex-lawyer, blogger, writer" Melissa Lafsky writes about how "fascinating" Ted Kennedy's life was because "we love us a good 'sinned and redeemed' story... the huge achievements, weighed against the huge sins."  This moral relativism doesn't really come as a surprise as it's so prevalent on the Left today.  But Lafsky takes today's nauseatingly slanted media coverage of Ted Kennedy's life and legacy to a whole new level.  She sums up Mary Jo's death at Chappaquiddick as her getting into a car with a senator and winding up "a controversial footnote in a dynasty."  Ah yes, Mary Jo Kepechne: that little dark speck on Kennedy's guilded shield that he just couldn't wipe off.

She continues:

We don't know how much Kennedy was affected by her death, or what she'd have thought about arguably being a catalyst for the most successful Senate career in history. What we don't know, as always, could fill a Metrodome.

Still, ignorance doesn't preclude a right to wonder. So it doesn't automatically make someone (aka, me) a Limbaugh-loving, aerial-wolf-hunting NRA troll for asking what Mary Jo Kopechne would have had to say about Ted's death, and what she'd have thought of the life and career that are being (rightfully) heralded.

Who knows -- maybe she'd feel it was worth it.

Actually, we DO know how Kennedy felt about her death--apparently not sad enough to stop cracking jokes about it.  And how can anyone even speculate that a murdered deceased young woman would agree with these loons' interpretation of Kennedy's "legacy"--and that her life was worth sacrificing to give the Democrat party a new poster-boy?  Somehow I doubt Mary Jo's parents would not agree with Lafsky speculation.

Absolutely reprehensible.
