Conservative Talk Radio Host Glenn Beck on the Left's Chopping Block

Fox News commentator and talk radio host Glenn Beck has become the latest target of the Left as groups campaign to have his popular television show removed from the airwaves.  MSNBC's Keith Olbermann

reported with glee earlier this week that a number of corporate sponsors have pulled advertising dollars from Beck's program on Fox, including NexisLexis-owned Lawyers.com, Procter & Gamble and Progressive Insurance.  Olbermann speculated that the decision to pull advertising support from Beck's show was a corporate response to Beck's comments earlier this month on Fox's morning show Fox and Friends about President Obama harboring a "racist" ideology.

This latest protest against Beck stems from Move-on.org-affiliate ColorofChange.org, a group that describes itself as  “the largest African-American online political organization in the country.”  ColorofChange released a press statement saying the organization had alerted its 600,000 members of Beck's controversial comments, urging them to sign a petition that asked corporate sponsors of Beck's program to pull their support.  "What Beck is doing is race-baiting at its worst, it's dangerous and it's hard to imagine any company wanting their brand associated with it," said James Rucker, executive director of ColorofChange.org.  (Rucker also happens to be a former "director of grassroots mobilization" for Move-on.org, and is a board member at Project Vote.)

But what seems like a small snuff to Beck from one organization for his personal comments on-air may actually be part of something much larger.  The name appearing on ColorofChange's

press release is Brandon Hatler, an employee of  New York public relations firm Sunshine, Sachs & Associates (SS&A) who represents names like Ben Affleck, Morgan Freeman, Leonardo DiCaprio and Justin Timberlake, “among other A-list celebrities."  SS&A also manages media relations for for Green for All, a “social justice” organization "working to build an inclusive green economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty."  Turns out that Obama's newly-appointed "Green Jobs Czar" Van Jones founded and operates Green for all and is a co-founder of the ColofofChange organization.

Frequent viewers and listeners may recognize this name from Beck's analysis of Jones' colorful past.  As Beck has reported, Jones was arrested during the Rodney King riots of 1992.  During this time, Jones has admitted:

"I met all these young radical people of color -- I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, 'This is what I need to be a part of.' I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary. I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th. By August, I was a communist."

Following the trail of breadcrumbs, you'll also find that Jones sits on the board of the Apollo Alliance, a group Beck has also not been shy about

reporting on in the past:

In turn, the Apollo Alliance has not been shy about going after Beck.  As Beck has points out, the Apollo Alliance has a long list of partners, including Jones' Green for All, Change to Win, an ACORN entity; ACORN itself; and (ready for a real surprise?) SEIU, among others.  Given all of these connections, is it any coincidence that  ColorofChange is going after Beck and his television show's sponsors?

When you connect all the dots, a current member of the Obama administration is a co-founder of an organization enlisting the help of a high-power New York PR firm to get a conservative commentator off the air.  And all the while the Left is giddy with excitement over the prospects of Glenn Beck signing-off.  Who are the "sick, twisted freaks" now?
