It Looks Like We've Glossed Over a Key Portion About Michael Flynn in DOJ IG Report on Crossfire Hurricane

Well, it looks like we glossed over something last December when the Department of Justice Inspector General released its report about the FBI’s spying operation into the Trump campaign—Crossfire Hurricane—and the FISA abuses that occurred under the Obama administration’s watch. Remember, the FBI used a politically biased piece of opposition research to secure a spy warrant against Carter Page. The document, the Trump dossier, was largely unverified but cited as credible evidence. It contained glaring errors that could be corrected by a Google search. Yet, the media harped on the “no bias” during this whole operation bit, which is a misrepresentation, which Wall Street Journal columnist Kimberley Strassel clarified eons ago. The Trump-Russia collusion myth was grounded in this document—and it was total garbage.

Carter Page and Michael Flynn are both victims of this circus act. Both of their lives have been destroyed over a manufactured lie by Democrats. And it seems that Christopher Steele, the ex-British spy who was hired to find dirt on Trump and compile this dossier was also offered big money by the FBI to target Flynn during the 2016 election. It’s in the IG report. Chuck Ross at the Daily Caller pointed it out:

An FBI offer to pay former British spy Christopher Steele to collect intelligence on Michael Flynn in the weeks before the 2016 election has been one of the more overlooked revelations in a Justice Department inspector general’s report released in December.

The reference to the FBI proposal, which was made in an Oct. 3, 2016, meeting in an unidentified European city, has received virtually no press attention. But it might have new significance following the recent release of government documents that show that Steele peddled an unfounded rumor that Flynn had an extramarital affair with a Russian woman in the United Kingdom.

It is not clear how and when Steele came across the rumor, or if it was the result of the FBI asking him to look into Flynn.

The inspector general’s report, released on Dec. 9, 2019, said that FBI agents offered to pay Steele “significantly” to collect intelligence from three separate “buckets” that the bureau was pursuing as part of Crossfire Hurricane, its counterintelligence probe of four Trump campaign associates.

One bucket was “Additional intelligence/reporting on specific, named individuals (such as [Carter Page] or [Flynn]) involved in facilitating the Trump campaign-Russian relationship,” the IG report stated.

Flynn pleaded guilty to “lying to the FBI” charges, which were politically motivated by a Trump-deranged DOJ. As new documents showed, Flynn was the victim of an FBI run amok, led by James Comey and others who plotted to entrap the former general. Obama had given marching orders to protect the FBI counterintelligence probe prior to Trump’s inauguration. This is what came out of that directive. The FBI had no reason to investigate Flynn. There was no evidence. And even after he was interviewed, the agents said they felt Flynn didn’t lie to them, but Comey needed to get Flynn at all costs. Later, the Mueller investigators threatened him and his family with financial ruin, which led to the legal debacle we’re in right now. The DOJ under Attorney General William Barr, upon this new evidence regarding Flynn’s prosecution, filed a motion to dismiss the case, which Judge Emmet Sullivan has ignored. Sullivan appears to be trying to drag this case for as long as possible, maybe in the hopes that a Democratic DOJ after the 2020 election will withdraw the motion. In the meantime, there is no case, both parties have not opposed the motion to dismiss, and there is no prosecutor anymore; he resigned. Flynn remains in purgatory. Once again, he’s a victim of overreach, but this time from the bench.
