I’m not a Star Trek fan at all, but I do remember that line from the movie “First Contact,” where some guy on Picard’s crew says, “they’ve adapted,” when fighting the human-cyborg dudes in space. That’s happened with satire apparently. Conservatives, or at least those who aren’t die-hard Democrats, have created solid content mocking the news media, politics, pop culture, etc. by adapting and liberals are not happy.
“They’ve adapted.”
The Babylon Bee could be seen as the right’s answer to The Onion, but even that site mocks Democrats at times. I mean this is satire. It’s humor. This isn’t a hill to die on when it comes to fighting bias. And yet, CNN and Snopes have decided to pick a fight over this site because well, it’s become immensely successful. Social media engagement from the Bee has been greater than that of The New York Times or CNN. They’ve been noticed and marked for destruction because they cannot allow conservative satire sites to live. These are the rules. They hate us. We must hate them with greater intensity in turn. But to go after Babylon Bee because you get butt-hurt that they’re making a mockery of your antics, like the 2020 Democratic field grieving over the fact that we took out an Iranian terrorist. Yeah, Maj. Gen. Qasem Soleimani of the Quds Force got a little killed at Baghdad International Airport when we fired a hellfire missile into his car, which and ripped apart and roasted his body parts into Grade-A terrorist chili brought to you by the US of A. He can burn in hell. He can die in a fire. And in this case, he did. It was delicious. It was a win for the country, but liberals are upset because only Democrats can kill terrorists (or not) and write satire apparently. This led to the satirical post about Congressional Democrats calling for the flags to be flown at half-staff.
CNN had a reporter saying how satire is the new term that could be used to shield sites from Facebook’s latest protocols on clickbait. And yet, this person appeared to be a huge fan of…The Onion. Donald Trump truly has broken the minds of the liberal elite, establishment, and its various minions that infest this nation’s cultural bastions like a cancer.

Twitchy captured the rant:
A CNN reporter is taking shots at the Bee because our articles get shared a lot and some people think they're real (which will always happen with satire).

After thinking "how adorable," I thought, "well surely this guy has chirped at the Onion for the same thing..." 1/3 https://t.co/m047iwflAk
There are websites dedicated to chronicling reactions from people who think Onion stories are real. Foreign leaders have famously been fooled by Onion articles. And this guy's bio says he "covers disinformation" for CNN. Surely he has taken the Onion to task as well, yes? 2/3

As it turns out, Mr. O'Sullivan HAS tweeted about the Onion. But it looks like he's quite the fan! https://t.co/MMLRP8J8n0 pic.twitter.com/8iFA3CQlHi

Another @CNN reporter accusing @TheBabylonBee of being insidious, fake satire. https://t.co/qYM6JPB3dI

I truly believe these people just don't understand humor pointed at them and assume it must have some ulterior motive.

The glory of CNN suddenly being concerned about clickbait and misinformation is worth basking in for a moment though.

Oh no, how will we ever know if this site is satire? pic.twitter.com/valNva9mv4

Yeah, that's what's happening here. We aren't actually writing satire or anything. Everyone knows only liberals can do that. https://t.co/NYx8GEFEgz

I mean seriously, if you read the Babylon Bee, you have to know this is satire. But we are talking about Democrats here, life forms that are in a perpetual vegetative state when it comes to humor.
You can already hear them now: “that’s not funny.”
