Not Shocking This 2020 Democrats Supports Trump’s Impeachment. He Also Thinks Nothing In The Steele Dossier Was Debunked

I’m not convinced that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will remain solid as a rock in the ‘we need a solid case for impeachment’ that she currently holds on the matter. The base wants this to happen. They voted for Democrats in 2018 on the basis that this would eventually happen. They want Trump gone. Now. The push is fraught with political risks, but that doesn’t deter the most rabid anti-Trump Democrats running for the presidency. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) hails from a progressive cesspool. He can say anything and not risk his career in public life. He won’t be the nominee, but he can sure make a lot of noise from now until whenever he decided to suspend his 2020 campaign. In a recent op-ed for The Atlantic, Swalwell said he’s for starting an impeachment inquiry (via The Atlantic):

We have no choice: Congress must begin an impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump. Even if the effort to remove him comes up short in the Senate, showing a willingness to hold a lawless president accountable may be the only way to save our democracy.

I purposely have not rushed headlong into this or prejudged the outcome, as he would have done. Along with my colleagues on the House Judiciary Committee, I have carefully weighed the available evidence. Impeachment is the most extraordinary remedy the Constitution offers, and even this president deserves fairer and more impartial justice than he ever renders. Yet no other American would have been afforded—and refused—so many chances to cooperate, come clean, and do the right thing.

I mean that’s quite the leap since in late, late May, Swalwell was arguing that Democrats should prepare for impeachment, but also they should rush into it. The Mueller report is quite clear. There was no Russian collusion. There was no conspiracy. Period. For two years, Swalwell and the Democrat-media complex peddled this myth—and it got torpedoed like the Lusitania. He can’t go back on it. No one who believed this trash narrative can. All they can do is double down, which he did with Fox News’ Martha MacCallum, saying that nothing in the Trump dossier (aka the Steele dossier) was debunked. Uh, the entire document was debunked by the Mueller report's final conclusion on Russian collusion. The document, which was compiled by ex-MI6 spy Christopher Steele and funded by the Clinton campaign and the Democrats, was political opposition research. It sought to get dirt on Trump. It contained sources that are still active in the Kremlin. And it now has more utility being used to clean oneself after using the bathroom. It’s clear that Swalwell didn’t look at jack concerning evidence—and belief is not evidence. Neither is laughable hot air expelled into the air by the insufferably liberal commentator corps of MSNBC or CNN. I look forward to Democrats pushing for impeachment, dividing their caucus, and energizing Republicans come November 2020. Bring it on, losers.
