Former FBI Director James Comey To Testify Before Senate Intelligence Committee After Memorial Day

Former FBI Director James Comey has agreed to testify in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee. It will be an open sessions scheduled after Memorial Day. President Trump fired Mr. Comey this month, prompting accusations that the Trump White House was trying to impede the ongoing FBI investigation into possible collusion between the president’s campaign staff and the Russians during the 2016 election. No evidence has been found to suggest collusion.

Mr. Comey also reportedly detailed ways in which the president acted improperly to influence the separate investigation into Michael Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser. Fox News verified that the memo exists, and that prompted the Senate Intelligence Committee to ask for the documents. The House Oversight Committee, chaired by Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) also demanded the FBI turn over all documents relating to communications between the president and Mr. Comey.
