Palin = Thatcher?

In a new Wall Street Journal column, John O'Sullivan points out that many "snobs" have dismissed Sarah Palin by saying that she's "no Maggie Thatcher". His response? "I know Margaret Thatcher. Margaret Thatcher is a friend of mine. And as a matter of fact, Margaret Thatcher and Sarah Palin have a great deal in common."

He points out some rather astounding similarities between the rise of Palin and the the ascendance of Thatcher in the 1970s (before she was the "Iron Lady" we all remember from the 1980s). This one is well worth reading.
