On the "Foot Soldier" Line

Amanda -- My take:  It is important for McCain to remind folks that he was a "foot soldier" in the Reagan Revolution.  You and I have heard it a dozen times, so it's getting old, but the average person watching on CSPAN probably hasn't.

And it is true that Ronald Reagan liked McCain, and probably knew him better than any of the other candidates (including Rudy). 

My point is that it's not enough for McCain to say that he was once a "foot soldier" in the Reagan Revolution.  Most conservatives admit McCain was once a good vote.  Their concerns with him began to arise after the Keating Five scandal ...
