Why I'm Not Sold on The Simpsons Movie

Today's WaPost says The Simpson's Movie is a Blast! -- and Politico has a good column up about conservatives and The Simpsons.

Personally, I would have been stoked for

The Simpsons Movie about a decade ago (when they were churning out hilarious episodes like "Flaming Moe's" -- and sentimental favorites like "Lisa's Substitute" -- and the episodes actually had narratives).

In contrast, today's episodes lack the sentimental quality, and are frankly discursive (yet, I still find time to watch two episodes each and every day). I don't have high hopes for the movie, but who knows?
