Called for McCain

Wow, that was fast. I was in transit from Fox to the Mitt camp's gathering, on our way to McCain.

I figured we'd check in on both.

As we walked into the Mitt event, I turned around to see Kevin Madden behind me, who informed me that Fox had already called it for McCain. He was polite and friendly, as always, greeting me by name (that's a good press guy, since he's only met me once or twice) before telling me the news, and seemed surprisingly not downtrodden. He had

just gotten the news, I think. I asked him the percentage, and he said, "I'm still trying to figure it out," and excused himself to talk on his cell phone.

The Mitt gathering is, of course, low-key. The packed parking lot suggested a bigger crowd than I see here, but I haven't checked around much. (My camera guy says there's a huge crowd I missed, back in the ballroom part of the venue.) We'll be off to the Maverick's victory party in just a moment.

Update:
The Mitt campaign, loss aside, is playing some uber-hip music. Arcade Fire's "No Cars Go?"
