There was a dense fog over D.C. today, very low to the ground, sitting heavily on the shoulders of those in the city just trying to get their jobs done.

The metaphor for Senate Dems is so obvious, I think I'll almost just leave it at that instead of trying to artfully weave it into this post. Samuel Alito is now done testifying. The Dems' attacks sat heavily upon him for a short time, but they're burning away as we speak. After that, he'll be able to move on and do his new job.
