The Department of Homeland Security has been on top of the fake news about their mass deportation operation published in mainstream media outlets, parroted by Democrat politicians, and peddled on social media. On Saturday, CNN lived up to its reputation as “fake news,” the agency noted, pointing to an egregious headline about the arrest of a criminal alien from Guatemala.

“Man yells for help as ICE agents carry him from LA courthouse into unmarked car, video shows,” read the headline on the August 16 story.

A man yelled for help as a group of men – one of whom said he was with Immigration and Customs Enforcement – picked him up and pushed him into a car outside a Los Angeles courthouse Wednesday, video shows.

The detention has been condemned by the county’s top judge and the man’s lawyers, who said such operations will deter people from showing up to court.

Video obtained by the Los Angeles Times shows the man being carried away with his hands bound behind his back. Those detaining him are in plainclothes, and some are wearing masks. The detained man repeatedly screams, “Can you help me, please?” as his body flails.

The man is then pushed into the back seat of an unmarked car. It’s not clear where he was taken. (CNN)

Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin confirmed the man's identity and explained why he was arrested.

“ICE arrested Steven Reyes-Luna, a criminal alien from Guatemala, outside a courthouse following a preliminary hearing for his drug trafficking charges on August 13, 2025,” McLaughlin told the outlet. “This criminal entered our country under the Biden Administration in 2024. A judge issued a final order of removal on March 27, 2025.”

On X, DHS wondered why the outlet cares "more about one illegal drug trafficker than the thousands of American victims poisoned by deadly drugs?"
