Trump Slams Dems, Some Republicans After Healthcare Bill Fails

President Trump slammed Democrats and some Republicans on Twitter Tuesday morning after any prospect of passing the GOP’s Better Care Reconciliation Act collapsed Monday when Republican Sens. Jerry Moran and Mike Lee joined their colleagues Sens. Rand Paul and Susan Collins in coming out against the legislation.

“We were let down by all of the Democrats and a few Republicans. Most Republicans were loyal, terrific & worked really hard. We will return!” he said.

He also suggested Congress should let Obamacare take its course and fail and then begin working on a better healthcare plan.

“As I have always said, let ObamaCare fail and then come together and do a great healthcare plan. Stay tuned!” he added.

Trump then blamed Democrats for obstruction and said Republicans need to pick up even more House and Senate seats in the midterms to have greater majorities.

“With only a very small majority, the Republicans in the House & Senate need more victories next year since Dems totally obstruct, no votes!” he wrote.

“The Senate must go to a 51 vote majority instead of current 60 votes. Even parts of full Repeal need 60. 8 Dems control Senate. Crazy!”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Monday night the Senate will now take up a bill the GOP passed in 2015 that will phase out Obamacare in two years.
