Dear Loyal Townhall reader,
As the Wuhan coronavirus continues to cause mass destruction in the United States, it's more important than ever to report accurately on the disease. It's also crucial that we hold the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the World Health Organization (WHO) accountable for unleashing this hell on the world through their lies, deception and ongoing coverups.
Our editors, writers and reporters at Townhall.com have been doing this from the beginning. In January, we reported on President Trump's travel ban to and from China. Instead of engaging in hysteria about "racism" and "xenophobia," we were writing about how the decision would save lives.
As the situation became increasingly dire for Americans and countries around the globe, I asked Secretary of State Mike Pompeo if Chinese government officials were lying about the seriousness of the disease. They were and still are. When spokespeople for the CCP tried to blame the U.S. military for creating and spreading the virus, we shot down propaganda with reporting from China's own state-run media outlets. We've promoted the work of Taiwan health officials who, unlike China, are friendly to the U.S. and have successfully contained the Wuhan coronavirus.
Since the White House Coronavirus Task Force was created, we've covered its members' work every single day. We've watched hours of briefings in order to bring our readers the most up to date information about health guidelines, stop the spread policies and economic timelines.
While members of the mainstream media were policing language and lambasting the accurate use of "Chinese virus," we were writing about how it would impact Americans. While leftist reporters were using China's numbers on the disease as established fact, we remained skeptical and highlighted stories showing their death toll is much higher than reported. In other words, China was covering up their numbers, causing further harm and devastation from the disease. While those same reporters were praising China as a "global leader" on Wuhan coronavirus response, we were unmasking CCP officials for sending faulty medical equipment to the hardest-hit areas of Europe and demanding payment for their "gifts."
While Democratic senators claim "the reason that we're in the crisis that we are today is not because of anything that China did," we're uncovering wrongdoing through crucial timelines, statements and facts. As the elite rush to the defense of the World Health Organization, we're detailing how it failed to do one of its most important jobs of pandemic prevention.
