Eric Holder Praises FBI's Andrew McCabe After Ousting

Former Attorney General Eric Holder praised former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe Monday afternoon, shortly after he was ousted from the Bureau.

Holder was voted in criminal and civil contempt by Congress during his time in the Obama administration for document stonewalling during the Fast and Furious scandal.

News broke last month McCabe would retire early, but planned to leave when he was fully eligible to receive federal retirement benefits. The reasons for his termination today, instead of previously or in the future, remain unclear.

After FBI Director James Comey was fired last year, McCabe served as acting director for a short period of time. His wife ran for a state senate seat in Virginia and accepted hundreds-of-thousands in campaign donations from a Clinton tied super PAC.

Last fall Christopher Wray was confirmed as the new and permanent director for the Bureau.
