NRA Endorses Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan Ticket

The National Rifle Association has made their support for a Mitt Romney presidency official. Yesterday NRA leaders David Keene and Wayne LaPierre hosted a rally for Romney and Ryan while slamming President Obama for his anti-Second Amendment agenda and handling of Operation Fast and Furious.

“Virginia is ground zero – the front line of this election. This is where the race could be won or lost. This is where the difference can be made. This is where gun owners must make that difference.” said LaPierre.

“Today, we live in an America that is getting harder to recognize every day led by a President who mocks our values, belittles our faith, and is threatened by our freedom.” said Cox. “So on behalf of the four million men and women of the National Rifle Association, representing tens of millions of NRA supporters, it is my honor to announce the NRA’s endorsement of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan for President and Vice President of the United States.”

Romney spoke at the NRA Annual Meetings in St. Louis back in April in an effort to ease the minds of pro-Second Amendment voters. During his address, he launched the Fast and Furious scandal into the presidential race debate.

GOP Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney applauded House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa and Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley for their efforts to investigate the Obama Justice Department’s lethal Operation Fast and Furious scandal today during a speech at the NRA Annual Meeting Leadership Forum in St. Louis. This is the second time any GOP presidential candidate has mentioned the Fast and Furious scandal by name in a public event speech, officially bringing the scandal into the 2012 general election with President Barack Obama. Romney also embraced the NRA’s calls for Attorney General Eric Holder to resign or be fired for his role in Fast and Furious.

"I applaud Congressman Issa and Senator Grassley for their work in exposing the “Fast and Furious” scandal. And I applaud NRA leadership for being among the first and most vocal in calling upon Attorney General Holder to resign," Romney said.

This week, Paul Ryan has been sending emails to supporters about the need for Eric Holder to resign.

It's time for Attorney General Holder to step aside.

He's misled Congress, and entirely botched the investigation of the Operation Fast and Furious debacle -- yet he still leads our nation's Justice Department.

It's just another example of the Obama Administration's transparent hypocrisy that despite the tragic and very human toll of this scandal, Attorney General Holder refuses to resign -- and President Obama refuses to remove him.

It's up to the American people to replace both of them on November 6. Let's restore justice to the Justice Department.

You can bet when the topic of Mexico comes up during the next two presidential debates, Mitt Romney will have an opening to bring up the topic of Fast and Furious directly to President Obama and the American people.
