Univision Exposes Bloody Fast and Furious Carnage and New Info in Special

Sunday night Univision's Aqui y Ahora aired an hour long special profiling the blood stained crime scenes left behind in Mexico by Operation Fast and Furious. Univision journalists risked their lives to bring us new details about the lethal consequences of the scandal, showing dead bodies, bloody streets and bloody rooms where cold blooded murders were committed with Fast and Furious guns provided by the Department of Justice.

President Barack Obama was in Mexico four months after being inaugurated and promised to stop the trafficking of guns into Mexico and to curb ruthless cartel violence. Officials in his Department of Justice did the opposite by providing cartels with guns to massacre anyone on their hit list or in their way, many who were police officers and public officials.

The special covered everything from the murders of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, I.C.E. Agent Jaime Zapata, countless Mexican citizens to the incompetence of Attorney General Eric Holder and the ongoing coverup he is engaged in. Univision reporters found 57 Fast and Furious guns not mentioned by congressional investigators linked to crime scenes. They detailed the different gunwalking programs DOJ and ATF were engaged in, including Operation Cast Away out of Florida where guns went to M-16 gang members in Honduras, Colombia and Puerto Rico. They investigated a Texas based gunwalking operation which resulted in the murder of Zapata on a busy Mexican highway. There was a scene in the special of a woman standing in front of Mexican President Felipe Calderon, begging for him to investigate what happened.

"They knew guns were going to cartels and they wanted guns going to cartels," Hugh Crumpler, a strawpurchaser for Operation Cast Away, said in the special.

Mexico is the number one country in the world for the assassination of journalists. I applaud the work of Jorge Ramos and the other journalists at Univision who were willing to investigate this travesty in Mexico where it had, and will continue to have, the most impact. The American people deserve answers, the Mexican people deserve answers and Univision gave us more of the information we've been seeking for nearly two years surrounding the scandal.
