Nikki Haley: No, Romney Isn't Looking at Me for VP

When South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley endorsed Mitt Romney in December 2011, it sparked rumors Romney was either considering Haley for a vice presidential nomination or that he would consider her in the future for the position. Now the governor is telling the Wall Street Journal Romney is not considering her for the position.

Gov. Nikki Haley said she isn’t under consideration as Mitt Romney‘s running mate in the race for the White House.

“No, I am not,” replied Ms. Haley after being asked is she was being vetted by the Romney campaign.

“I have made it very clear from the very beginning that I love my job, I love South Carolina and I made a promise to the people of my state [to complete my term] and I have to keep it,” said Ms. Haley during an interview at the Farnborough International Air Show promoting South Carolina aerospace.

VP speculation continues to swirl with Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio, Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, Sen. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, former Governor Tim Pawlenty still on the potentials list.
