Obama 'Generally' Proud of Our Troops

Two weeks ago, President Obama inflamed tension in Afghanistan after apologizing for the inadvertent burning of Korans and other religious materials on Bagram Airbase. At least thirty people were killed in riots following the accidental burning and apology. Now, after the tragic shooting of Afghan civilians over the weekend by a mentally deranged U.S. soldier, Obama has said he is still "generally" proud of our troops.

President Barack Obama is calling the alleged slaying of 16 Afghan civilians by a U.S. soldier "absolutely tragic and heartbreaking" and said that he is still "proud generally" of what U.S. troops have achieved in Afghanistan while working under "enormous strain."

The calculated shooting of innocent civilians is nothing to be proud of, however, President Obama's generalization of the U.S. military as a whole because of this isolated incident is disturbing.
