Senate Democrats introduced new legislation on Friday that would require visitors to any of President Donald Trump's resorts to register in an online database because "the American people have a right to know who has access to the President and who has leverage over this administration."

The Making Access Records Available to Lead American Government Openness or Mar-a-Lago Act, would include security personnel and "purely personal" visitors.

Democratic Sens. Tom Udall, Sheldon Whitehouse, Jack Reed, and Tom Carper introduced the legislation on Friday along with Rep. Mike Quigley in the House.

Earlier this month, four senators wrote an official letter to President Trump demanding the publication of visitor logs in the White House.
