The Pelosi Revolt: Another One Bites The Dust

This week, we should check off Democrat Roy Herron, who is running a tough race against Republican Stephen Fincher in northwest Tennessee, as well as Rep. Bobby Bright

(D-Ala.), as additional Democrats who won't endorse Pelosi for Speaker if they are re-elected. That's up to fifteen Democrats who have come out against the Speaker, if you count all of Democrats who won't publicly admit to their mutiny but have done so off the record to different sources.

Bright's anti-Pelosi-ism is worth laughing at just a little bit, given this gem from the Speaker Education Project. Two months ago, Bright nearly bit a constituent's head off trying to defend his vote for Pelosi, calling his vote for her "procedure, not substantive."
...did you just hear what I said? [Pelosi] put me on three committees, she gave me millions of dollars worth of resources for my constituents in my district to help protect our military bases.... do you see what I'm trying to tell you?

As Politico points out, the number of Democrats who are refusing to endorse Pelosi doesn't represent a really widespread revolt in their ranks, but it does represent a significant shift in the way the Democrats think about their party. And of course, it might represent the usurping of Nancy Pelosi for Speaker if the Democrats manage to retain control of the House.
