McChrystal Summoned To White House Over Derisive POTUS Comments

Gen. Stanley McChrystal was quoted in the Rolling Stone magazine saying derisive things about Obama and Biden over the Iraq war. For that, he's making the trek to the White House per Obama's request, where he is certain to get slapped with wet noodles, and told that he can't play with his toys.

In all seriousness — many of the things McChrystal said were probably true, but that doesn't mean a senior military official should be quoted in a national magazine so wantonly criticizing our commander in chief. In the piece, McChrystal gave examples of the way he and his crew would talk about Obama. "Clown," and ""stuck in 1985" were two phrases used by one of McChrystal's assistants. McChyrstal himself said that he dreamed of "dismissing the vice president with a good one-liner," and was otherwise highly critical of Biden's directives.

Most outstandingly, one adviser to McChrystal told the magazine that one of Obama's meetings with McChrystal "was a 10-minute photo op," and that "Obama clearly didn't know anything about him, who he was ... he didn't seem very engaged," according to the Herald Sun. If that meeting was a photo op, what about Obama's highly-publicized trips to the region?

As out-of-line as MyChrystal was in giving the interview, I'm also quite alarmed that POTUS could be quoted as saying these things.
