The leftish Social Democrats suffered their worst electoral defeat in 60 years, with Germans welcoming in legislators who supported limited government, low tax rates, strong private property rights, and open trade.

Lets hope Chancellor Angela Merkel takes advantage of this majority and can shrug off the longstanding “grand coalition” with Social Democrats, which has forced her governance to be more left-wing; most Germans are still pretty skeptical about her prospects for doing that.
