Tea Party Rocks DC

The rain is steady, and the temperature is unseasonably cold, but 1,500 protestors have turned out for what can only be called a resounding success for advocates of lower taxes and smaller government.

Lafayette Square is flooded with angry taxpayers, holding signs and calling out chants to a host of conservative speakers and protest organizers. The protest is still going on - here's a look.














 




Police had axed the permit for a second protest in front of the DC Treasury that would have accompanied the one currently taking place in Lafayette Square. Despite organizers having secured a permit for the Treasury protest ahead of time, protesters were not allowed to congregate there. Rumors have it that the Secret Service was involved.
