There are more buzzards circling Chris Dodd, despite the poll showing Rep. Rob Simmons (R-Conn.) in a dead heat with the Senator for 2010. The Hill reports that both Greenwich businessman Tom Foley, a former ambassador to Ireland, and state Sen. Sam Caligiuri are challenging Simmons in the primary. It's great that Republicans are excited to run this race -- the state's so blue that even Dodd the Bod probably won't have too tough of a time maintaining his hold. But if you've already got someone who is tying him up, why encourage alternatives?
