Video: Tucker Carlson's Insane Interview With Newsweek 'Journalist'

Of all the confrontational interviews Tucker Carlson has conducted in the early days of his fledgling primetime program on Fox, this one takes the cake. Carlson pressed Newsweek's Kurt Eichenwald on why he should be billed as a journalist, given the hyper-partisanship of his twitter feed. The exchange quickly focused on a potentially-defamatory allegation Eichenwald had leveled against Trump during the campaign. Carlson asked his guest to justify his lurid claim, resulting in a bizarre mix of deflection, rambling non-sequiturs and attempted prop comedy. Bonkers:

Eichenwald spent much more time whining about 'not being allowed' to answer a fairly simple question than attempting to answer it.  It was tedious and exhausting to watch.  That he is not an unbiased reporter is beyond dispute (Carlson, for his part, has never made his worldview a secret). But given his on-air behavior and unhinged, incoherent tweets after the interview, one might be forgiven for wondering if this individual is, well, stable -- which is a bit ironic, in light of the unsubstantiated rumors he actively spread about Donald Trump.
