I was on a State Bar panel Saturday afternoon with Randy Evans, the Atlanta lawyer in charge of Newt Gingrich’s business interests. He’s quoted below. Before we parted, Evans told me this: “In 10 days, Newt Gingrich will be in Georgia, announcing his exploratory committee.”
Evans later sent an e-mail. “Within 10 days,” he said.
So that’s Tuesday by March 8. Not necessarily on March 8.

At CPAC, Gingrich told our own Katie Pavlich he wasn't a presidential candidate...yet. If Galloway's report holds up, Newt will become just the second Republican to take the next telltale step toward a full-fledged candidacy. Last week I wrote about one potentially thorny issue the former Speaker will need to address if this eventuality does, indeed, come to fruition. We'll know soon enough.
