PA House: Kanjorski on the Ropes

Thirteen-term Democratic Congressman Paul Kanjorski (PA-11) is in serious trouble:

The second Times Leader 2010 Election poll, conducted by Critical Insights of Portland, Maine, shows that 43 percent of the 221 people polled favor [Lou] Barletta, the Republican mayor of Hazleton, compared to 32 percent for 13-term Democratic incumbent Paul Kanjorski and 25 percent undecided. At the 95 percent confidence level, the margin of error for the 11th District was plus/minus 6.58 percent.

Kerry Picket at the Washington Times focuses on the difficulties Kanjorski is facing within his own party--a rupture he can ill afford.  As I will detail in a major analysis later this week, Pennsylvania could prove to be an epicenter of the potential Republican earthquake this November.  Polls like these reinforce my instincts about the Keystone State this cycle.
