Charlotte Dem: Trump Supporters Have 'No Place' in City Council

Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) told pro-life conservatives there's "no place" for them in New York. Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez said pro-life Democrats need to fall in line with their abortion agenda, or leave the party (paraphrasing).

The tolerant left is at it again. A Democrat in Charlotte, North Carolina has no regrets insisting that there is no room for Trump supporters on the city council.

Those were her exact words.

“Republicans that are supporting Trump, they should have no place on city council whatsoever or in the mayor’s race,” Dimple Ajmera said on the news show Flashpoint on WCNC Sunday.

Instead of apologizing, Ajmera has "strongly reiterated" her position.

“The Ajmera Campaign strongly reiterates its position that President Trump’s negative agenda of petty divisiveness, disrespect of women, his harsh and dangerous policies against minorities, immigrants, the sick and disabled runs absolutely counter to the values that we need [to] solve the issues of economic mobility for all people, public safety and improved infrastructure,” the statement said. “We have full and absolute faith in the voters of Charlotte that rejected ‘Trump Values’ in near totality in 2016. If the 2017 City Council race is a referendum on Trump’s values, then we accept that challenge.”

The Mecklenburg Republican Party posted its response on Facebook, wondering why Ajmera doesn't trust the voters.

Hate to inform Ajmera, but a Trump supporter is every bit as eligible as she is to serve in government.
