The Kansas City Police Department is reporting that one of its officers has been shot and is currently in critical condition. They are asking for prayers.

The Kansas City Star has more information on the incident, reporting that dozens of officers swarmed the area where the shooting occurred.

The motive has not yet been revealed, but police have been a common target as of late, considering the recent tragedies in Dallas and Baton Rouge.

On Monday, President Obama sent America’s police a letter telling them “we have your backs.”
