Walker Silences Heckler: "I Am Not Intimidated by You, Sir"

Is this the Wisconsin Governor's "I am paying for this microphone!" moment? Monday at the Iowa State Fair, a popular stop on the 2016 presidential campaign trail, Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI) gave us a glimpse of how he beat Big Labor in his home state.

When a small group of hecklers tried to interrupt Walker's SoapBox speech, he had a swift and compelling response:

"I am not intimidated by you sir or anyone else out there," Walker says, loudly, to a protester in the front row. "This is what happened in Wisconsin," Walker added. "We will not back down."

Walker was referring to his successful fight against Wisconsin labor unions in 2012. When the unions forced the governor into a recall election because of his daring to scale back their collective bargaining rights, he won handily. The years following have not made him any less convincing in his taking down these special interest groups.

Several outlets and pundits have reported that Walker's bold retort in Iowa is a telling moment for his campaign. He had up to this point been rather muted and under the radar compared to his more bombastic opponents. Yet, Monday's performance is likely to boost his presence in the race.

Will Walker's fighting spirit be on full display at the next debate?
