Clinton Up Six In Latest Virginia Poll

The latest poll of Virginia is not good for Donald Trump. The final Christopher Newport University poll has Hillary Clinton leading Trump by six points--48 to 42. Clinton's running mate, Sen. Tim Kaine, represents Virginia.

From The Washington Post:

Clinton was ahead with 48 percent to Trump’s 42 percent in a survey by the Wason Center for Public Policy at Christopher Newport University. Clinton’s margin in the state had been as high as 15 percent in previous CNU tracking polls, but her six-point margin held up in the final week.

A swing state that had gone blue in the last two presidential elections, Virginia had seemed so safely in Clinton’s column that both sides pulled TV ads from the state back in the summer.

Old Dominion, save for one Hampton University poll last week, has been pretty solidly in the Clinton column since the beginning of the campaign, although some polls suggested that her lead may not be as certain as it seemed. This poll, however, which was taken over the last week, seems to imply that Virginia will be staying blue this election.

Virginia has 13 Electoral College votes.
