A Story of Mediocrity . . . and Total Failure

The Washington Examiner's series on Barack Obama is horrifying, fascinating reading.  It's a story of how one man has -- not so much "failed upward" -- as "mediocred upward."  Many of the hagiographic accounts Americans were sold by respected journalistic outlets are at best woefully incomplete, at worst, dead wrong.

As I finished the series, I realized what a total failure the MSM's coverage of Obama has been -- and just how profoundly ashamed most of its members should be.  If voters had known everything about this man we know now, I doubt he would have been elected, notwithstanding everything from anger at George W. to the financial crisis.  Through a concerted effort to boost Barack Obama -- an effort that continues today -- the press has forever iundermined its own integrity, and the nation is paying the price for its agenda-driven journalism in the shape of a failed presidency.
