Enough With the Hatred

Helen Thomas has spoken ugly words of Jew hatred.  Now imagine the outcry had her remarks been directed at African Americans, Muslims or even women.

Meanwhile, in South Carolina, a state senator,

Jake Knotts, has used the slur "raghead" to refer both to the President and the leading Republican contender for governor.

Bigotry like this is destructive of civil, democratic society, and these remarks aren't even close to the line.  Helen Thomas and Jake Knotts are entitled to exercise their First Amendment rights, of course, but people who propound this kind of hatred really have no place among civilized, decent people.
