ObamaCare Will Cut Medicare

Just for the record.

Karl Rove points out in today's WSJ that Obama himself has announced plans to cut funds for Medicare Advantage -- a program that allows seniors to buy their own private insurance using Medicare money (and which, not incidentally, lets them control their health care, rather than the government).

Democratic congresswoman Betsy Markey has also admitted that Medicare spending will have to be cut in order to pay for health care "reform." In fact, she had this to say about ObamaCare:

"There's going to be some people who are going to have to give up some things, honestly, for all of this to work. But we have to do this because we're Americans."

Uh, no we don't, Congresswoman.

In any case, the next time the Democrats try to scare particular constituencies with threats that evil Republicans are the ones aiming to cut some particular cherished program, this is a moment to keep in mind.
