Now THAT's a Conflict of Interest

By now, everyone knows that Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) has raised the specter of reinstating the ironically-named "Fairness Doctrine" -- which would, of course, have devastating effects on conservative talk radio.

What's been less reported is the fact that Stabenow's husband, Thomas Athans, is the co-founder of a liberal talk network that would, presumably, benefit from imposition of the Fairness Doctrine.

One doesn't generally hear all that much from or about Sen. Stabenow (excepting, of course, the time when she made a speech standing next to a sign reading "Dangerously Incompetent" -- amusing photo here).  Perhaps her husband's interests explain why she would be leading the charge.

But what can explain the minimal press coverage of what's obviously a glaring conflict of interest?
