The Shape of Things to Come

No surprise here -- Newsbusters reports that press coverage of John McCain has been overwhelmingly negative, especially compared to that of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama (but don't expect to see him complaining about it, a la Hillary).

This is, of course, eminently predictable.  Let's just hope that McCain's largely friendly history with the MSM will at least offer his campaign some insight on how to manage the negative coverage any Republican nominee is bound to receive (only the naive and foolish would believe the relationship might result in friendlier coverage).  The campaign's handling of the Iseman debacle showed at least some signs that it may have a more savvy and nimble press shop than some other Republicans in the past.
