Report: 7 Dead As a Result of a Shooting at Molson Coors in Milwaukee

UPDATE (5:50 p.m. EST):

According to CBS Chicago, the gunman was fired earlier in the day. He went home, retrieved a gun, returned to the plant, and began firing. He reportedly had a suppressor on his firearm.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett confirmed multiple fatalities took place.

Molson Coors released a statement about the situation:

"There is an active situation at our Milwaukee facility and we are working closely with the Milwaukee Police Department," Molson Coors Beverage Company told ABC News in a statement. "Our top priority is our employees and we’ll provide updates in conjunction with the police as we are able."

Police in Milwaukee, Wisconsin are responding to an active shooter scene at the MolsonCoors headquarters. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, seven people, including the shooter, are dead. 

Employees were made aware of the active shooter situation via email. They were told the shooter "was in or near the second-floor stairwell of the sprawling factory’s Building 4," the Journal Sentinel reported. 

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, Marquette University Police Department and the U.S. Marshals were dispatched to the scene, as well as paramedics from both Milwaukee and West Allis.

Nearby businesses, including Harley Davidson, were under lockdown. Schools, including Marquette High School and Story Elementary School, were also under lockdown.

The Milwaukee Police Department is asking people to stay away from the area. The scene is still considered active. 

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) is on the scene to help investigate.
