Oh Snap: NRA Confronts Kirsten Gillibrand Over Her Comments About The Organization

AP Photo/Manuel Balce Ceneta

During her Fox New town hall on Sunday night, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) talked about how the National Rifle Association (NRA) is the "worst organization in the country." Host Chris Wallace pushed back and called her out for her previous support of the gun rights organization.

The NRA reminded Second Amendment supporters and gun control advocates of Gillibrand's blatant hypocrisy. The organization shared a copy of a 2008 letter they received from Gillibrand, thanking the NRA for their work to protect gun rights in America, the same letter that was shared weeks ago.

Conservatives thought the response was laughable. After all, Gillibrand left a paper trail. There's no way she can dispute her past.

Hours later though, Gillibrand decided to double down and still push her anti-NRA position.

Guess she's really trying to make the DNC debate stage...or trying to convince anti-gunners (and herself) that their gun control policies will actually make a difference in this country.

People like Gillibrand upset Americans across the board. If you believe in gun control, fine. Stick to it. Defend it. If you believe in the Second Amendment, fine. Stick to it. Defend it. But pick a side and stick to it. I'm not saying people can't grow and change their point-of-view but this is straight up political pandering. She didn't just alienate one side. She's alienated everyone.
