Socialists thrive only when they have an ignorant, dependent class of impoverished citizens propping them up. It's why they vehemently oppose the nuclear family; such a structure undermines their agenda and reduces the need for government intervention via social welfare programs.

It's also why they oppose school choice and alternatives to public school education, including charter schools and homeschooling. Having an uneducated, but indoctrinated, public is vital to keeping socialism alive and for creating a never-ending generational dependence on government.

Make no mistake: there are decent public schools and good teachers. I've known and loved some of them. But, by and large, the public school system — especially in blue states — are failing. And when alternatives pop up, the Democrats do their darndest to keep them down. Not only for the reasons I've mentioned above, but also because public school teachers' unions are reliable sources of votes and campaign donations.

In New York, parents are calling for the cap on charter schools to be lifted, after they dominated NYC public schools in reading and math.

Here's more:

Charter schools make up more than half of the top 100 performing public schools in New York City based on results of state math and English exams, a new analysis found.

Their domination on the top schools lists, compiled by the Washington Free Beacon, was noteworthy given that the 285 charter schools in the Big Apple make up just 15% of the nearly 1,900 publicly-funded schools under the city Department of Education.

Supporters seized on the fresh evidence of success, arguing it should persuade the state Legislature to lift the cap and allow more of the popular alternative schools to open in the five boroughs.

Mayor Mamdani, however, doesn't support the expansion of charter schools and had no comment on this report.

According to the New York City Charter School Center, 90 percent of charter school students are Black or Hispanic and the Thomas B. Fordham Institute says 80 percent of charter school students are economically disadvantaged. If education is meant to be the means by which children break the cycles of poverty, especially Black and Hispanic children, shouldn't the so-called champions of minorities — the Democratic Party — trip over themselves to fund more successful charter schools?

You would think so.

But they do not.

Because, as I said, it's not about educating these children and it's most definitely not about allowing them to break the cycles of poverty and disadvantage. It's about pushing them into failing public schools where they'll never learn to read or do math, so they can grow up and struggle to earn a living. Democrats believe this will make them a reliable voting bloc throughout their adult lives

And when those students have kids of their own, Democrats want the cycle to begin again.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

During COVID, I made the choice to move my children to a private Catholic school that was open and out of the public school system. While the public elementary school was solid, my eldest had a horrible time in middle school to the point where I pulled him out and homeschooled him. He and his younger brothers thrived in their small, private Catholic grade school and the older two have blossomed in their small Catholic high school.

I believe that every child should have that same opportunity. Democrats do not and here in Wisconsin, they're working to end school choice.

At the end of the day, this isn’t about Democrats, Republicans, or ideology. It’s about parents like me who want something better for their children.

I made that choice for my kids. Millions of other parents, many of them worse off than I am, are trying to do the same. They’re not asking for special treatment. They're asking for a way out of a failing system.

Democrats like Zohran Mamdani don't want to give them that.
