Gov Kaine to Chair DNC

Democrats will install Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine as Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, replacing Howard Dean, sources tell the Washington Post.

Kaine will work as part-time chairman until his term as Governor expires in 2010--a move that increases the Democrats odds of keeping Virginia in their column.

According to the Post, a "veteran operative" will run the DNC's day-to-day operations until Kaine takes over.
