Leadership I Like

McCain is calling on his GOP colleagues to stand with Tom Coburn (R.-Okla.) against  the vengence "Tomnibus" bill Harry Reid created to spite the Oklahoma senator.

(I wrote about the bill here last week.)

"I urge all of my colleagues to support Senator Coburn in his efforts to rid the federal government of wasteful pork barrel spending and to vote against the Reid Omnibus legislation loaded with provisions for special interests," a release from the McCain campaign said. " This convoluted measure comprised of 35 separate bills, which according to CBO would cost the taxpayers over $8 billion, represents Washington at its worst.  While there are certainly parts of it that are worthwhile, I hope this measure will not pass."
