President Trump Arrives at Florida Hospital to Thank Medical Professionals and Meet with Shooting Victims

Moments ago, President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arrived on scene in Broward County, Florida to meet with medical professionals who assisted in the treatment of the shooting victims from Wednesday's tragic attack at a local Florida high school.

That attack, carried out by 19-year old Nikolas Cruz, left 17 dead and dozens more injured. According to the Associated Press, the Trumps are meeting privately with doctors, nurses, and assistants to thank them for their tireless work in saving the victims lives over the past two days. A majority of those shot were brought to Broward Health North Hospital in Pompano Beach.

President Trump will also meet with the Broward County Sheriffs office later tonight to thank them for their valiant efforts in wake of the incident. Trump tweeted that he would be meeting with “some of the bravest people on earth" earlier today.

It is unclear how many victims President Trump will actually meet tonight, but it is confirmed that he will meet with at least one survivor. "Trump's visit to Florida was not a last-minute add to his schedule; he'd been planning to spend the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago estate, some 40 miles from Parkland, as well as tout his infrastructure plan at a concrete plant near Orlando. The infrastructure event was canceled after the shooting," reports CNN
